OK, the last day of stupid April - due to Apr. 1st? ^^

 

The APOD today is about Arp 272 which is an object of two large galaxies merging/colliding. While some effect of merge is the topic I'm currently researching. Through merging, violent star formation could be triggered and huge black hole could be possibly formed. But the process would last long and long relative to people's life thus we can only see a snapshot of it, and also, as stars are tiny compared to the space between them, there's tiny chance that two star would actually hit each other. It's two galaxy colliding, and only thing that is working is almost just gravity.

 

Actually, people think that our galaxy is drawing contents from the nearby Megellanic Clouds (Large and Small MC. hoping I don't spell it wrong). And we would collide with the ... some galaxy nearby some million years later. ^^ But don't worry ... that would not even affect our life or our earth, which might be already die out at that time.

 

然后是八卦。昨天火箭终于又赢了，其实最近三场比赛，火箭都打出了那种叫做“输了也精彩”的比赛～所以胜负都无所谓了。但是，赢了，就有多一场比赛可看，也更加是好事！哈哈。马刺轻松晋级，祝福连冠！

记得许久前我还在骄傲的宣称，像疯狗一样咬人的我才是真实的我。

时光磨啊，心境平和。

已经不再像彼时那样气盛，大多恼怒的话也可以平静的抛出。

卡卡～^^～话语还是像彼时那样令人恼怒的样子呢～是一种进步么？挑衅人于无形？

 

随便扯扯，没出啥事啊～长辈们不用担心。

I find that few people come and read since I wrote about APOD. Nevermind......just for practising~

 

How stars formed? This question would lead to how the earth and us "formed". Anyway, stars formed far more simply - at least as theories tell.

 

Stars, also all of us, originate from a bunch of gases - mostly H (hydrodgen) .. some helium .. maybe some other "metals". The very earliest triger should be gravity. Then it (they?) constract ... and heat up ... and ... "Bang"! nuclear reaction! Radiation pressure ... blablabla...

 

Anyway, it's how our origin (original ernergy, home ...... GOD?) originates. So inevitable but hey, you know how many of them owns life? In human sense ... only one.

 

So ... feel a little bit special when you think you are just normal some day.

Firstly, why I want to write about APOD?

1. To give out some basic idea of what is nowadays astronomy about and what I am doing.

2. To practice some of my basic understanding of my field.

 

Cluster of galaxies are like galaxy to stars to galaxies - in another word, it's the galaxy of galaxies while galaxy is the galaxy of stars. Then what are stars? Stars are "celestrial objects" like our Sun - Sun is one common star. How many stars are there in one galaxy? Generally around some billion and at least some million. How many galaxies are there in the virgo cluster? Some thousands. Actually, the counts of "visible" - visible to telescopes - galaxies is comparable to the counts of stars in one galaxy.

 

Huge number, huh? Yep. Thus we know how tiny and small we are.

 

Cherish each day of your life, before you die and become one tiny part of those tiny "dead" "astronomical bodies".

Science is dirty and people who is dreaming about a pure, perfect dream of science should better acknowledge that the key point you accomplish your perfect dream of pure science is to do the dirty work inside it. Like the SUN LIGHT in this APOD, actually, it's not pure "WHITE" light, and also, there's far more complicated things happening in its path. Thus it come to you, making this glorious scence. Like it when you come to one peak of the science mountain after zigzag climbing and dirty.

 

Enjoy your accomplishment, but endure all the way to it.
